Global Impact: Piotrkow, Poland
The Kontakt Festival (International Volunteer Festival Kontakt) is based on partnering together with local city officials and community organizations in serving and building bridges connected with Proem’s church planting in Lodz and Piotrkow. The weeks emphasize local community development with volunteers from Europe and the States serving in 6 different spheres or zones of ministry:
Help — renovation projects (local apartments and ngo buildings)
Sport — sports programs in local schools (usually basketball) and a streetball tournament
Art — music and art workshops and concerts in local venues
Junior — VBS type program for underprivileged kids
Senior — practical programs (computer) and workshops aimed at supporting the elderly
Family — family-based counseling and parenting workshops for parents and their children
Kontakt is an opportunity for Proem to build relationships in each of these cities. There will be concerts in the evenings and a bigger closing event on Thursday. Throughout the week we’ll invite the people we meet to come to this event. While serving and enjoying fellowship, team members have an awesome opportunity to spread God's word and hope in a variety of ways and circumstances
