Ethiopia has wrecked our hearts. Life in Abundance Ethiopia has fanned a flame. Faith-filled servants of Christ in the middle of leprosy and HIV ridden slums have challenged us more than any sermon, worship song or Bible study ever could. God allowed us the privilege… the honor… to walk streets filled with trash and sewage with some of the most faithful, God honoring and sacrificial servants we've ever met. They continue to amaze us, year after year, as they follow after God in whatever situation comes their way. They know sacrifice and suffering, but yet praise God joyfully. We are humbled and in awe that God would allow us such an opportunity to know these people - staff, pastors, community leaders... and yet they have honored us as their guests...lavishly honored us with gratitude for just being willing to listen to their stories and how they are experiencing God’s grace in their lives.

Some Ethiopians live in slums where they are a single Light shining in the darkness. Some
die to themselves, daily… choosing homelessness and trusting God to provide a bed and meal every day so that they can give all they own, literally, to the poor and needy in their Church and community. Some kneel to pray every day while Islamic rhetoric and calls to prayer blare through their walls. And they praise Jesus. Some have literally been imprisoned and beaten for their faith. Some practice medicine in the middle of one of the neediest slums in the world, providing services to over two thousand a year who just can not pay… and they do it with smiles on their faces and love and compassion in their hearts. These people love Jesus.

Our trip looks like this - we will walk (literally) street with LIA staff, meeting families and hearing their stories, with the privilege and opportunity to pray with them. We will meet beneficiaries of the multiple projects LIA-ET is currently running, as well as the ZOE Medium Clinic. We also hope to run a workship in 2018 for church and TOT leaders, focused on multiple topics.

There are so many stories. So many testimonies of miracles, deliverance, and hope. Our hearts are so encouraged, and so honored to witness how the Spirit is moving in Africa. Ethiopia has made such an impact on us that we continue to return! This will be our third trip to Ethiopia, and we can't wait to experience all that LIA-ET is with you.

Your leader,
Jess & Jeremy
